Chop it all off!

2.1.14

I had decided about mid-January that it was about time to cut off my hair. For those of you who don't know me personally- let me explain.
My hair is super-thick. It always has been, and it tends to grow at a ridiculous rate. I usually have to get haircuts every 2-3 months just to keep it from getting out of control. When I was younger, the very first time I decided to cut my long hair I decided to donate it to Locks of Love because I knew that kids who had to undergo radiation or chemotherapy usually lost their hair. So I decided to take of a foot of hair and donate it.
In High School, right before my senior year, I did it again. And then I think I donated it once in college. So this is probably the fourth or fifth time that I've donated my hair. Once it gets past my shoulders, I usually just shrug and let it grow until its long enough to donate. The only downside of this is that for the last month before I chop it, my hair really annoys me. It takes way too long to wash and dry, and 90% of the time I throw it up in a bun or a ponytail.
Anyways, mid-January I had decided to chop it all off, so I had made the appointment to do that the Saturday we got back from Punta Cana. Alex had decided to get his certification to teach Crossfit at our local gym (he's nuts), so I had plenty of time that afternoon to go and hang out at the salon.

Here's my before picture

After picture with ONE of the four ponytails she cut off.

Yeah, its really short. I'm still getting use to it.
